CARLOS OCTAVIO MITELMAN

Carlos Octavio MitelmanBorn in the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina, on December 31, 1967.

EDUCATION: Lawyer, School of Law, Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), 1991; IP Agent.

PRACTICE AREAS: Patents, Industrial Models and Designs; Legal Department. He advises domestic and international companies on legal and administrative IP matters and evaluates the most convenient strategies for solving the legal conflicts. He actively participates in the different steps of patent and trademark lawsuits, focusing mainly in the following: mediation process, preparation and enforcement of injunctions, filing of complaints and answer to the complaints, production of evidence, drafting and preparation of arguments, and appeals. Furthermore, he analyses the impact of new legal rules. He has been member of Obligado & Cia. since 1998.

BACKGROUND: He has actively participated as lecturer in many IP conferences and seminars in several Argentine Universities and Institutions.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITY: Professor of Law at the Universidad Austral since 2005; Professor of the Intellectual Property Master at the Universidad Austral since 2008; Professor of the course “Business Law” at the School of Economics, Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA) since 1992.
